This ooey gooey Oreo Skillet Brownie is the ULTIMATE chocolate dessert! Homemade brownie mix is studded with Oreos, baked until gooey, and then topped with ice cream, hot fudge sauce and a maraschino cherry! Ready in less than 45 minutes, this rich, impressive dessert is perfect for sharing!
Preheat oven to 350°F. Choose a high-sided oven-safe skillet to bake your brownies in and spritz with nonstick baking spray. (I used an 8” cast iron skillet.)
Melt the butter in the skillet over medium heat on the stovetop. You may also do this in a bowl in the microwave.
When melted, turn down the heat to low.
Stir in the chopped chocolate, stirring constantly until completely melted.
Turn off the heat. Measure in the sugar, stirring vigorously with a rubber spatula until combined. Let cool for 5-10 minutes.
Break the eggs in a separate bowl. Measure the vanilla into the bowl with them. Whisk with a whisk or a fork until combined.
Temper the egg mixture with a spoonful of the chocolate mixture, stirring vigorously to combine and warm up the eggs to where they do not scramble in the brownie mixture.
Pour the egg-vanilla mixture into the skillet, stirring vigorously to incorporate all the wet ingredients.
Add the flour and salt to the skillet, stirring until just combined.
Next, add the chopped Oreos and chocolate chips and fold to incorporate into the batter.
Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven, and bake for 30-35 minutes or until cooked through. (If you're a fan of gooey brownies, check this around the 25-minute point.)
Top with your favorite garnishes, and enjoy warm straight out of the oven!
