Strawberry Simple Syrup
1 ½cupwater
1 ½cupgranulated sugar
1cupstrawberriessliced
Strawberry Old Fashioned
2oz.whiskey
1oz.strawberry simple syrup
1oz.water
1strawberrymuddled
Instructions
Make the Strawberry Simple Syrup
In a saucepan over medium heat, combine the water, granulated sugar and strawberries.
Bring to a simmer, stirring constantly, until the sugar dissolves.
Remove from the heat, and bring to room temperature.
Make the Strawberry Old Fashioned
In a old fashioned glass, measure in the water and strawberry. Muddle the strawberry.
Add a cocktail ice cube, if desired.
Pour in the whiskey and the strawberry simple syrup.
Stir until combined.
Serve immediately.
Notes
Strain the strawberries out of the simple syrup after it comes to room temperature. Refrigerate. It should last for a week or a little longer.
